Send It Santa Clarita: Sunday, May 31st

If you’ve followed our gravel guides from the past, you knew a Send It in Santa Clarita would be upon us, but there’s a wild card we’ve been waiting for and now’s the time!

The long anticipated Haskell Canyon Bike Park just opened with a number of trails for all levels and we’re looking to get our first crack at it!

There will also be gravel mixed in with a number of landmarks, so be prepared for a fantastic day of riding but first the rules:

• The climbing when it does happen will take A LOT OF work. We have less vert than normal, but this ride will be extremely difficult if you’re a first timer or working your way back.
• The dirt is technical in certain sections. Good working brakes are a must!
• This is not an organized ride and everyone rides at their own risk. Make sure to bring your own tubes and a couple of water bottles. 
• Riding tires 40mm and above will do the trick for most, as the climbs are steep and in the teens, while the downhill is technical. and there’s some soft patches on the dirt descents..
• There will be a number of regroups, but once everyone’s back, we roll!

• This will not be race pace, but we reiterate this ride is tough. If you’re just getting back into riding, I suggest you read Rule #1 again.

We will be meeting at the Peet’s Coffee (27047 McBean Pkwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91355) at 8am, ROLL at 8:30 SHARP.

After crossing the Lost Boy’s bridge, we’ll head straight up to the hills up the San Francisquito Motorway where you’ll find a couple of atypical surprises along the way.

We’ll then drop across San Francisquito Road to ride the ridge over the site of the infamous St Francis Dam collapse of 1928.

From the top we’ll drop into the Haskell Canyon Bike Park where we’ll spend a half hour trying out the flow trails that rank from beginner to advanced.

To top it off, we’ll be finishing at Pocock Brewing (24907 Ave Tibbitts ste b, Santa Clarita, CA 91355). If you want to park there before the ride, please find a spot in the back.
