SEND IT CicLAvia Nov 23 / Maverick Cycles Dec 7

RSVP for CicLAvia(Facebook or Strava) and Maverick Cycles(Facebook or Strava)

The holidays come up on you fast, so we decided to announce our final two Send It rides of the year.

Please RSVP for our November 23rd at CicLAvia (Facebook / Strava) and December 7th out of Maverick Cycles (Facebook / Strava) because we will be updating details on those pages and posting the final routes and water stops the week of the rides.

The CicLAvia Send It will overlap part of the route from our in August 2024 heading up to the Hollywood Sign.

A route has a new starting / ending location beginning out of the new 10 Speed Coffee at 8am on the LA River Bike Path (3014 Worthen Ave Building C, Los Angeles, CA 90039) and finishing up at Frogtown Brewing a block away.

Parking is available in the neighborhood or down the river path at Lewis MacAdams Park.

We will be passing some century old landmarks before joining the CicLAvia route on Melrose.

Then we’ll head for some dirt in the Hollywood Hills up to Trebek Open Space and some famous sign.

Two weeks later, we’ll return to Maverick Cycles(15807 Whittier Blvd, Whittier, CA 90603) in Whittier December 7th (Facebook / Strava) wrapping up the year for the third straight time starting at 8:30am.

There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood along Russell St. (northern edge of Maverick).

Once again, we’ll be hitting the rollercoaster that is the Seventh Street Loop and the Schabarum Trail for a playful 32 miles with a water stop in the middle.

We’ll be updating, but there will be a food vendor (or two) in the parking lot, so bring a chair for yourself to lounge after.

If you’re curious about the fun, here’s a video from our first Send It Maverick Cycles event:

As always, please check out the RIDE RULES:

  • The climbing when it does happen will take A LOT OF work. These rides will be extremely difficult if you’re a first timer or working your way back.
  • The dirt is technical in certain sections. Good working brakes are a must!
  • This is not an organized ride and everyone rides at their own risk. Make sure to bring your own tubes and a couple of water bottles.
  • Riding tires 40mm and above will do the trick for most, as the climbs are steep and in the teens, while the downhill is technical. and there’s some soft patches on the dirt descents, as well as loose pavement on the road.
  • There will be a number of regroups, but once everyone’s back, we roll!
  • This will not be race pace, but we reiterate this ride is tough. If you’re just getting back into riding, I suggest you read Rule #1 again.

Otherwise, don’t forget to RSVP and look for you to join as we wrap up 2025!
