With Chino Hills State Park indicating they’ll be closed this weekend, we will be POSTPONING our March Send It tentatively to May 7th.
Mobbin’ Monday will still be meeting in Pomona at 9am, but will be leading a different route.
After our February Send It breaking a string of rain outs, we’re looking to take advantage of these downpours with Mobbin’ Monday leading us through Chino Hills State Park.
This has been a hotspot for gravel and spring blooms which hope to peak around our March 26th ride.
The route covers two distances at 38 miles and a shorter choice by avoiding the southern loop bringing it to 32 miles.
While there are some punchy climbs, the difficulty is going to be on the lighter side of our Send Its prioritizing fun over fast.
Before we get into the details, some ride rules:
- The first rule is that this is an unsupported ride and everyone rolls at their own risk.
- Make sure to bring your own tubes and a couple of water bottles. We’ll be stopping at one spot along the way for refills.
- Recommended tires are 35mm and above. There isn’t as much dirt on this edition compared to other Send Its, but be prepared.
- This will not be race pace. At the same time, you have to be able to handle a couple of sustained climbs.
We’ll be meeting in Pomona at Shawn Diamond Plaza congregating at 8:45am, leaving sharply at 9am.
A good part of the ride will be paved hitting some pitches before reaching Chino Hills State Park.
Inside the park is either up or down with the main climb averaging 10% over two-thirds of a mile.
At the 17 mile mark, we will be stopping for water and restrooms before we resume more dirt.
Afterwards, we’ll return back to the Rookery in for some post riding fare.
